Winter Wedding – Shustoke Barn – Birmingham
Rob and Gemma were recommended to me. When I met them I knew that they were a very special couple. They were so relaxed and fun and I felt like we had known each other for ever. When they decided that I was the right photographer for their wedding day, I did a little dance and for a long time I was looking forward to photographing their wedding day.
On the 1st of December I headed off to a hotel near Shustoke Barn, where Gemma and her bridesmaid were getting ready. It’s the most bridesmaids I have ever photographed at one time. Gemma had 9 Bridesmaids. After spending 5 minutes with Gemma its so easy to see why she had 9 Bridesmaids . She is warm, caring and so much fun. Gemma has this energy that just makes you want to be around her and I saw this infold throughout their wedding day with her wedding guests.
Gemma and her bridesmaids all mucked in with each others hair and make up. They helped each other get their bridesmaids dresses on, they drank champagne together (lots of it), laughed a lot, ordered taxi’s and headed off to Shustoke Barn. For 9 bridesmaid it was very well organised and very relaxed. Gemma arrived at Shustoke Barn in her Uncle’s car and I loved how family and friends had very important parts to play in the wedding day.
Civil Ceremony – Shustoke Barn – Birmingham
It was the first time that I have photographed at Shustoke Barn. I have been looking forward to shooting their and especially shooting a winter wedding. Shustoke Barn is a beautiful, purpose built, exclusive, wedding venue nestled in the countryside ,near to Coleshill in Birmingham, West Midlands. Shustoke Barn has everything for a perfect winter wedding. It is warm, cosy and looks so beautiful with the Christmas decorations.
The barn where the wedding takes place is just breath taking. It has high beams, with large windows and the barn was filled to the brill with lovely wedding guests. Rob was waiting at the aisle for Gemma. He beamed as she walked down the aisle to him. The wedding ceremony was very emotional, real and in true Gemma and Rob style, very very funny. They had asked two of Gemma’s closest friends to read out a poem during the wedding ceremony. The wedding guests went above and beyond that and wrote the funniest and the most heart warming song for Gemma and Rob. They sang it accompanied by two men playing the accordion and the whole wedding party joined it the fun. This was extra special.
Wedding Breakfast – Shustoke Barn- Birmingham
After the wedding ceremony the wedding guests went onto the patio at Shustoke Barn where they were served canapés and drinks. Rob’s mom had worked hard at the table decorations and flowers and Shustoke Barn looked very beautiful. The wedding speeches were hilarious and heart warming and the food served from Shustoke Barns was just delicious.
The wedding guest were definitely up for the party. The dance floor was full all night. This wedding including crazy dancing , crowd jumping , limbo dancing and finished off with the bride breaking her arm. (That’s another story).
I was honoured and privileged to be part of Gemma & Robs amazing wedding day at Shustoke Barn.
