Wedding Photography 2022
What a Year!
It has been such a long time since I blogged. I found it hard to blog over the last two years. I wanted to show you how great weddings were. Even with all of the restrictions, weddings still were special. But it felt unkind to post all the wonderful wedding photographs when others were struggling to navigate through Covid. So I chose not to share them. I hope, coming out of the madness, I will start sharing more weddings with you.
The last two years have been really difficult for everyone within the wedding industry. I am so glad to see the back of it and return back to normality.
2022 arrived with a bang and it started to look like weddings would go ahead without any restrictions. As the months ticked along, the restrictions were dropped and I saw the excitement return back to my couples. Wedding planning was in full force and I knew in my gut that weddings would go ahead this year.
I loved the energy that the restriction removal created. I had couples in 2022 that had postponed once, twice and even three times. Now, I could see their excitement and confidence grow as they realised that their wedding was happening. This has been magical.
I have particularly loved this year. I think I am weird, I actually love to see and feel people happy. I get so much Joy knowing that people are truly happy and excited. I feel so blessed to be a part of it. A favourite moment from a wedding day is when the bride or groom is walking down the aisle. I love looking at everyone’s faces. Right at that moment, everyone is happy, for a split second everyone forgets all their concerns and even for a split second they are happy.
Watching wedding venues bursting with excited people, drinking, relaxing and throwing shapes on the dance floor has been a real pleasure.
Wedding Photographer
It’s been a great year for me. I have shot more weddings than any year before. I have shot weddings from different cultures, and religions, in new venues and familiar wedding venues. I have shot weddings in different countries and in different parts of the UK. At every wedding, I have given my best and worked hard. I have made new friends, seen old friends, eaten the most amazing wedding food, cried one million times at a speech or special moment, fell over, seen some things I probably shouldn’t of, danced a lot, felt like a bridesmaid, felt like I’d known my couples forever, fell in love with my couples and wished I was part of their family. I have so many precious memories.
At the end of every wedding, my feet are burning but my heart is full. I have walked away from every wedding and felt blessed. Do I really have the best job in the world?
